The number of positive PCR tests at schools has decreased compared to the previous week. However, there are only comparative figures from Upper Austria and Styria; all other provinces had semester breaks last or this week.
Hundreds of Corona infections detected in school PCR tests

.In the two PCR tests in Upper Austria, 2,227 infections were detected this week (previous week: 2,917), and in Styria, 1,522 (last week: 2,079). In addition, there were 1,967 positive PCR tests in Lower Austria – there is no previous week comparison here due to the vacations. Vienna’s figures, which have a different test system with “Alles gurgelt, “are unavailable. Carinthia, Salzburg, Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Burgenland are currently on vacation.

Over 5,000 positive test results
The approximately 5,700 positive test results refer only to the twice-weekly PCR screenings at schools. It does not include tests that students take away from school, for example, because of symptoms or infected by a close relative. Also not included are positive antigen tests at a school that lead to PCR night tests outside of screening.
